Stress is a frequent problem reported by women, impacting the strategies they use to deal with problems in daily life and their ability to recover from this critical phenomenon. <strong>Objective: </strong>The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between stress levels, knowledge about COVID -19, ways of coping, and resilience in women. <strong>Method:</strong> A non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational study was carried out in a group of 386 Mexican women through a format that was distributed on social networks. <strong>Results:</strong> The data suggest that the higher the level of knowledge about COVID-19, the greater the perceived stress. High stress is positively and statistically significantly related to coping style, <em>denial</em> (r = .245; q = .20) and <em>cognitive-reflective analysis</em> <em>(r =</em> .303; <em>q=</em> .21). Low levels of stress are negatively and statistically significantly associated with a weak effect size with factors like <em>social competence</em> (<em>r=</em> -.198; <em>q=</em> .11) and <em>family support</em> (<em>r = </em>-. 227;<em> q =</em> .16). <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Stress affects women considerably due to work overload and interpersonal factors. A series of studies have shown that these kinds of critical situations have effects such as the development of anxiety processes in people. Hence the interest in knowing how health habits help to adapt to the pandemic and mediate anxiety processes.&nbsp;<strong>Objective:</strong>&nbsp;to analyze the relationship of healthy habits with anxiety and adaptation to confinement.&nbsp;<strong>Method:</strong>&nbsp;7,439 people from Mexico participated, with ages between 18 and 80 years (<em>M</em>&nbsp;= 36.99,&nbsp;<em>SD</em>&nbsp;= 14.00).&nbsp;<strong>Results:</strong>&nbsp;We found that sleep (58%), eating (29%) and physical activity (52%) habits have been affected by confinement; 11.5% of the participants showed indicators of anxiety. The 9% of participants adapted poorly to confinement. The variable that best predicts adaptation to confinement is anxiety, followed by food, sleep, and physical activity. Those who are most affected by habits are young people and women by gender.&nbsp;<strong>Conclusions:</strong>&nbsp;The pandemic has led to changes in negative habits in a large sector of the population, which are now considered risk factors for physical and mental health. The present study assessed the causal relationships of the TPB in a cultural context different from the one that was proposed.</span><strong><span lang="EN-US"> Objective: </span></strong><span lang="EN-US">To assess the causal relationships among the variables proposed by the TCP to determine if they predict consistent condom use in two groups of Latina women and to identify the inter-group similarities in both groups and the discrepancies with what the model proposes for the North American population.</span><span lang="EN-US">&nbsp;</span><strong><span lang="EN-US">Method:&nbsp;</span></strong><span lang="EN-US">A set of variables were evaluated in two samples of Latina women (Mexican and Argentine): consistency of condom use, intention to use condoms in the next sexual encounter, the subjective norm of friends and parents, attitudes towards condoms, and perceived behavioral control to use condoms. We used the Linear regression analysis.&nbsp;</span><strong><span lang="EN-US">Results:&nbsp;</span></strong><span lang="EN-US">Intention to use condoms was found to be the best predictor of condom use. Subjective norm was more important than attitudes; although the latter variable was not configured as a predictor in Argentine women.</span><strong><span lang="EN-US">&nbsp;Conclusion:&nbsp;</span></strong><span lang="EN-US">The associations between the CTP variables and the predictive values of the variables may change according to the cultural group evaluated; perceived behavioral control, in both samples, was not a direct predictor of condom use behavior, but it was a predictor of intention to use condoms. In the case of lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) persons, they have been constant victims of stereotypes, prejudices, and discrimination around the world. However, few scientific studies explore the experiences of discrimination in Puerto Rico, since most studies have focused on negative attitudes, prejudice, and social distance.&nbsp;<strong>Objective:</strong>&nbsp;The aims of this brief report are 1) to describe in detail the relative importance of the quality of the items of the Perceived Discrimination in the LGB Community Scale, and 2) to describe the experiences of discrimination both at the individual and group level of an LGB sample according to the order of relative importance found.&nbsp;<strong>Method:&nbsp;</strong>This research had a quantitative method with a descriptive study design, instrumental type. To meet the objective of this study, the data collected in each item was independently evaluated to examine the experience and perception of each participant in the situation presented by each premise. A non-probability sample of 300 LGB participants was recruited in Puerto Rico.&nbsp;<strong>Results:</strong>&nbsp;The area with the highest reported experiences of individual discrimination was the relationship category (<em>M</em>=.700), followed by psychological (<em>M</em>=.630), society/environmental (<em>M</em>=.566), family/employment (<em>M</em>=.566) and physical (<em>M</em>=.386) respectively. The area with the highest perceptions of group discrimination reported by the sample was the education/health category (<em>M</em>&nbsp;= .882), followed by culture/society (<em>M</em>=.827), politics (<em>M</em>=.803), maternity/paternity (<em>M</em>=.802) and locality (<em>M</em>=.791) respectively.&nbsp;<strong>Conclusion:</strong>&nbsp;When analyzing all the items, it was observed that the results of the first 22 positions according to the&nbsp;</span><span lang="EN-US">Relative Importance Index</span><span lang="EN-US">, correspond to the experiences of discrimination in a group way. This makes parents feel overwhelmed by the demands of the parental role, promoting negative feelings about themselves or their children. Therefore, the aim is to determine the relationship between parental stress and dedication to the virtual education of their children in parents from the city of&nbsp;Tingo&nbsp;Maria, Peru.&nbsp;<strong>Methods:</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong>It is a cross-sectional descriptive non-experimental design study with a correlational scope. The instruments used in the data collection were: The parental Stress Scale and the Questionnaire Dedication to the Virtual Education of their Children, in which 356 parents aged 18 to 59 years (Me=37; SD=7.49) from the Peruvian Amazon dedicated to agriculture participated.&nbsp;<strong>Results:</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong>Where it was found that there is no relationship between parental stress and dedication to the virtual education of children (rho = -0.096; p = 0.071). However, a highly significant relationship was found between the dimensions of parental rewards (rho = 0.384; p=0.000) and stress factors (rho = -0.270; p = 0.000) with the variable dedication to virtual education with moderate effect size and small respectively. Likewise, significant differences were found between parental stress according to marital status (U= 12056.0, p&lt;0.05, d= 1.703) and children's dedication to virtual education according to age (U=3360.0, p&lt;0.05, d= 1.343).&nbsp;<strong>Conclusions:</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong>In the parents who participated in the study, the greater the stressors, the lower the dedication to their children's virtual education, and an increase in parental reward increased the dedication to their children's virtual education. Despite its relevance and growing interest, a consensual and univocal definition has not yet been reached.&nbsp;<strong>Objective:</strong>&nbsp;This paper aims to review contemporary theoretical models of emotion regulation, looking for agreements and divergences between authors. It seeks to identify the main processes considered when working with emotional dysregulation.&nbsp;<strong>Method:</strong>&nbsp;Our team conducted a systematic review in the form of a narrative synthesis following the guidelines of the PRISMA statement. The database used were SCOPUS, PUBMED, and&nbsp;<span class="SpellE">Dialnet</span>. We included articles published between 2018 and 2020, which have been peer-reviewed in indexed scientific journals, whose central theme was the theoretical presentation of the construct of emotional regulation. We excluded articles that conceptualized only one dimension of the construct focused on specific populations and empirical studies without a theoretical conceptualization of the construct. The information was systematized in a table identifying authors' information, country of institutional affiliation, main characteristics of the given definition of emotion regulation, regulation skills mentioned, and underlying theoretical frameworks.&nbsp;<strong>Results:&nbsp;</strong>We identified ten different theoretical frameworks that propose models of emotion regulation. The main components found in the definition were the complexity of the construct, goal orientation, intra- or interpersonal regulation, the proposal of moderators, and its voluntary character.&nbsp;<strong>Discussion:</strong>&nbsp;There is a consensus on the use of emotion regulation strategies to adapt to environmental demands, achieve goals and increase well-being. We identify that people's learning history is an important factor in the development of emotional regulation skills. In addition, context and personality traits are proposed as moderators of the therapeutic efficacy of interventions focused on emotional regulation. Further studies along these lines would favor the implementation of preventive interventions and the personalization of treatments.</span></p> 2022-03-23T11:17:56-04:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## Third-order critical family therapy: rethinking psychopathology and psychotherapy 2022-11-08T11:54:31-05:00 Raúl Medina Centeno <p><strong><span lang="EN-US">Background:</span></strong><span lang="EN-US">&nbsp;The focus of third-order critical family therapy is to raise awareness of the systems of systems – structural, socioeconomic and cultural contexts– that organize lifestyles that interfere with health. This clinical proposal integrates systemic wisdom with social theories, and in particular delves into a sociocultural theory of the human mind, power and emotions, a set of concepts from which indignant love, solidarity dialogue, critical honesty emerge, as the axes from which clinical work is woven. The ultimate goal is for the family to restore critical solidarity dialogue and empower themselves in their well-being.&nbsp;<strong>Method:&nbsp;</strong>Our study is narrative.&nbsp;<strong>Conclusion:</strong>&nbsp;</span><span lang="EN-US">This clinical proposal leads to re-thinking psychopathology not as an individual or biological problem, but as a resistance to those contexts of belonging that excludes and mistreats, and therefore to diagnosis as an active organized social framework.
